This is the highest altitude coffee we source from this stunning region. Crafted by the passionate farmers of Muraho Trading Co., this Red Bourbon variety delivers a clean, complex cup with a silky body and bright, juicy notes. Nestled in one of Rwanda’s most picturesque corners, Shyira washing station (built in 2017) sits at 2,000 MASL, surrounded by lush hills and fed by a pristine river.
Local growers, living up to 2,400 MASL, hand-sort cherries with care, floating out imperfections before pulping. The magic happens during fermentation, where workers sing and dance in ceremonial foot-stomping rituals, agitating the coffee in concrete tanks for 8 hours to enhance its vibrant flavours. This unique tradition infuses every bean with pride and community spirit. Through our partnership with Muraho Trading Co., we’re not just sourcing exceptional coffee, we’re supporting Rwandan co-operatives to boost quality, fetch fair prices, and reach new markets.
