It’s Christmas Eve, the fire is crackling, fairy lights are twinkling, and there’s a glass of something creamy and boozy in hand. That’s exactly what this coffee tastes like in a cup. Grown high in the misty Sierra Nevada mountains on Moises Chica’s 33-hectare family farm, La Secreta, this very special natural-process lot is pure indulgence. Hand-picked, slow-dried on raised beds under the Caribbean sun, every cherry has been turned into a flavour bomb of thick Baileys cream, gentle warming whiskey, and that sweet, sticky finish you only get on Christmas night. Moises was just 15 when he decided he wanted to do something different with his family’s land. By 18 he’d already earned SCA certification and started experimenting with rare varieties (Gesha, Pink Bourbon, and this gorgeous Cenicafé 1). After everything Colombia has been through, this young farmer is writing the next chapter, one delicious, boundary-pushing coffee at a time. This is not just coffee.
This is the taste of log fires, laughter, and that first magical sip on Christmas morning.
