Four generations of the Chica family have farmed La Secreta in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Today, Johan Chica combines family knowledge with microbiology and innovative fermentation, focusing on both exceptional cup quality and responsible farming. The 89-hectare farm holds around 430,000 coffee trees and four mountain reserves that protect water sources and biodiversity.

Selectively picked Castillo cherries undergo a solid lactic fermentation with Lactobacillus, without being submerged in liquid. The coffee is then dried in a Guardiola mechanical dryer, preserving its clean structure while building its distinctive tropical, wine-like character.
